Below are some of the many different servant leadership opportunities I have had the chance to participate in. Through all of these, I have been not only able to develop as a person but a leader as well. I have been able to serve and help others while developing myself as well.
- Trip Chaperone - Pride, Inc.
- Accompanied two individuals with intellectual disabilities to Indianapolis, Indiana. This provided them the opportunity to take a break from their routine with a vacation, go to a NASCAR race for the first time in-person, and meet their goals of normalization.
- Anti-Texting and Driving Demonstration - University of Mary
- Partnered with a local law enforcement agency to provide students with a seminar and demonstration course that highlighted the dangers of texting and driving.
- Youth Trip Chaperone - Century Baptist Church
- Accompanied students to Orange County, California. Was responsible for the students on the bus ride, at the many different service opportunities we did within the inner-city setting, and at our accommodations.
- Elks Camp Grassick Fundraiser - University of Mary
- Was a part of a team that raised money for students to attend Camp Grassick, a specialized summer camp. My role on the team was to help with finances and create a business plan within the University. We all worked as a team to create a successful event and help send children to camp while learning servant leadership lessons along the way.
- Middle School Youth Leader - Century Baptist Church
- Lead a small group of middle school aged boys once a week. Have been able to form positive relationships with the boys and help them grow, while learning about how to best cater to that age group. Along with that, I have also chaperoned different events for them and gone along on several different weekend retreats.
- Ropes Course - University of Mary
- Participated on a ropes course in Medora, ND. There I was able to learn lessons about leadership and develop myself as a stronger leader. I was also able to participate in it with my freshman mentees with the Emerging Leaders Academy, helping develop a stronger relationship with them.
- No Excuses University - University of Mary
- Corresponded with a student from a low socioeconomic school via GoogleDocs. Through our discussions, we were able to get to know each other and I was able to encourage him while showing him the importance of going to college after high school.
